Federal Statistics User Feedback Form
Dear federal statistics user,
We seek your feedback as part of an ongoing American Statistical Association-George Mason University project to independently examine the health of the federal statistical system.
We want to hear from you, regardless of whether you are a federal statistics novice or a seasoned power user. The feedback we seek includes examples of how you use federal statistics and your suggestions to improve both the data and the user experience.
Your feedback will be most helpful if we receive it by Friday, February 28, 2025.
Thank you for your time,
ASA-GMU project team

+ Why is your participation critical?
Why is your participation critical?
The goal of our project is to independently document the value of federal statistics and proactively identify challenges and opportunities facing federal statistical agencies. We will summarize our findings as part of an annual reporting and outreach effort to Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, and other stakeholders. Since the purpose of federal statistics is to be used, your feedback as a data user is critical for achieving our goal.
+ What does your participation entail?
What does your participation entail?
We have prepared several ways for you to provide your feedback. You can answer multiple choice questions about your data use and experiences. You can also provide your feedback through free responses.
How you participate and the amount of time you spend is entirely up to you. Participation may require less than ten minutes of your time.
Feel free to circulate this invitation to other users of federal statistics. If you would like to discuss your views with us further, provide your name and email, which we will use to contact you and for no other purpose.
+ How will your input be used?
How will your input be used?
Your participation is voluntary but critical for understanding the federal statistical system. Any information you provide will be summarized with others for inclusion in our reporting.
We will maintain your responses on a secure George Mason University computer for use by the project team members only. We will destroy your responses after our report is released. We will not quote you or attribute anything to you in our report without checking with you first.
Note that this project is made possible through support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and the California Community Foundation. See https://www.amstat.org/policy-and-advocacy/assessing-the-health-of-the-principal-federal-statistical-agencies for more information.
