College of Science Student Ambassador Program

(Launching Spring 2025)

Purpose:
A prestigious team of COS students that participate in special events in an official capacity. Ambassadors act as a liaison between the college and prospective students, their families, guests, alumni, the general public and friends of the college. Ensuring that they are well informed of programs and resources offered by the University.

Requirements:
  • Sincere COS student with a desire to represent the college
  • Capacity to adapt to a variety of situations
  • Have at least an overall GPA of 3.0
  • High standard of academic honesty and responsible behavior
  • Effective speaking skills
  • ·Responsible and dependable

Expectations:
  • Attend Open House and Information Session programs
  • Speak with prospective students by phone or email
  • Welcome prospective students to attend class
  • Share your COS academic experiences in writing
  • Participate in COS events (when available)
  • Assist Admissions by calling and congratulating newly admitted students
  • Attend a recruitment fair to share your experiences as a current student in the School
  • Help create innovative videos for the purpose of recruiting
  • Attend formal functions (on occasion) as a student representative
  • Maintain a positive demeanor that reflect the College as you interact with a variety of people
  • Attend a monthly meeting

Training:
Training will be held annually. Ambassadors should also expect to attend one professional development event.

Evaluation:
At the end of each year all Ambassadors are evaluated and considered for the next year based on performance.
