Honors College Study Abroad Request Form

Students in the Honors College may request Honors College course credit for study abroad courses.  If those courses are housed at a partner institution outside of George Mason University, students will request Honors College credit through the online Course Equivalency Request provided by the Global Education Office. 

 

For students requesting Honors College credit for courses led by George Mason University faculty (e.g. winter, spring, or summer break experiences), students MUST complete the form below.  Please submit the requested information by the posted deadline.   If students complete the form after the posted deadline, there is no guarantee that the application will be reviewed and approved before the start of the program.  Once the program begins, students cannot request Honors College course credit.

After students return from their study abroad experience AND the course is listed on their transcript with a grade, Honors College staff will submit a course substitution form on the students' behalf.

 

Students are encouraged to meet with their Honors College advisor before submitting this form.  The Honors College advisor will provide guidance on which HNRS course is appropriate for this request.
