Learning from Experience - Truth and Reconciliation in the United States
The Mary Hoch Center for Reconciliation (MHCR), at George Mason University, seeks to support the national movement for racial healing through reflection, building networks, and peer exchanges. As part of an emerging national coalition on Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation, MHCR wants to facilitate peer-learning to ensure that new initiatives are empowered to achieve their goals.
Please, join us in a conversation on December 10th, International Human Rights Day, as we explore the results and lessons learned in four previous truth-seeking processes, quite diverse in their scope of inquiry and methodology, but all quite successful in their tackling effectively the challenges of a complex inquiry. Featured processes include the Greensboro experience, the Maine-Wabanaki experience, the Truth-Telling Project, and the North Carolina Commission of Inquiry on Torture.
